This MOOC provides a broad overview of the different methods of studying marine ecosystems, but focuses mainly on coastal areas.

The main objective of the course is for students to learn about the most representative coastal ecosystems, their characteristics, functions and services, and the approaches currently used to analyze their distribution.

It is aimed at managers, public administration technicians, professionals, graduates, postgraduate and vocational training students with an environmental qualification profile, to provide them with innovative, modern and dynamic training in areas related to marine ecosystems.

This course is one of the four MOOCs that formed part of the ‘Specialized TRaining on Applied tools for Sustainable MARine EcosystemS’ itinerary, funded by the EU through the TRASMARES ERASMUS+ project (2019-1-ES01-KA203-065536), coordinated by the Environmental Hydraulics Institute of  Cantabria (IHCantabria), in collaboration with the University of Bologna (IT), the University of Coimbra (PT) and Telefónica Educación Digital (TED).
